Certified Hotel Broker

Hotel Brokers International recognizes the importance of working with qualified, certified professionals. As a result, in 1994 Hotel Brokers International developed the Certified Hotel Broker (CHB) program - the only certification program in the hotel brokerage industry. The CHB designation recognizes hotel brokers who have advanced their professionalism.

Candidates of the Certified Hotel Broker program complete a series of educational requirements earned through relevant educational endeavors, leadership activities, industry participation and hotels sales performance. All Candidates undergo review by an elite board of hotel real estate and hospitality professionals. The board evaluates the practical applications of education including listing presentations, packaging and sales skills.

Candidate Eligibility Requirements

  • Licensed real estate broker or broker associate;
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in hotel sales including acting as primary listing and/or selling agent or hotel acquisition/disposition specialist in three hotel transactions, or
  • Minimum of one-year experience in hotel sales and having acted as primary listing and/or selling agent or hotel acquisition/disposition specialist in five hotel transactions.
